First Post

This was the first project of the year that we had to do for Design 101. It involved us doing three individual tasks, the first one was called 'Identity' and it consisted of placing five objects onto a sheet of A4 paper and placing them in such manner that 'represented' who we are of why we placed them where we did. The second task was called 'Building' and involved creating an axonometric drawing of an object with circular features. I chose to use a mechanical pencil sharpener as it is in the shape of a cylinder. The third task was called 'Word' and involved representing a design word on a grid. The word i chose was 'modernism.'

For the task, my five objects that I chose were my wallet, lip balm, my cell phone, a keychain and my sunglasses. The way that I placed them on the paper was quite aligned and lacked randomness. I rendered the entire background of the paper black and left the objects white (with the detail on the objects being black) which I thought looked effective as it made the objects stand out more on the page.
